These terms cover your use of Zip Code Shipping Abakira (“the app”), a Shopify app run by Abakira LLC (“we”, “us”). By installing the app you accept them. If you don’t, don’t install it.
1. What the app does
It lets you charge different shipping rates depending on the buyer’s zip or postal code. You set zones (exact codes, prefixes or ranges) and their rates, plus a fallback for the rest of each country. The app writes those rates into a shipping profile it owns in your store, and two Shopify Functions run at checkout: one hides the rates that don’t match the buyer’s code, the other applies a shipping discount when a zone is cheaper than the fallback. Each rate can also get cheaper prices from an order value or up to a parcel weight, applied the same way as a shipping discount, and a name per checkout language. The app does not calculate carrier rates. We change features over time, and we try not to break the rates you already run when we do.
2. Plans and billing
There is a free plan and a paid plan. Their prices, limits and what each one includes are in the pricing section of the app’s page on the Shopify App Store, and in the plan page inside the app. The paid plan is billed by Shopify, through your Shopify invoice. We never see your card. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from the app; Shopify applies the change as it describes in its own billing terms.
When you move to a lower plan, nothing is deleted. The zones you already run keep working, but you can’t add zones beyond what the new plan includes.
3. Your responsibilities
- The zones, codes and prices you enter are yours. You check that they are what you want buyers to pay, and that they are legal where you sell.
- If you keep your own shipping rates visible next to the app’s, Shopify can show both to a buyer. The app tells you when this applies and how to hide yours.
- You keep your Shopify account secure, and you don’t use the app for anything unlawful or try to disrupt it, other merchants, or Shopify.
4. Your data
What we collect, why, and how long we keep it is in the privacy policy. It is part of these terms. You remain the controller of your store’s data; we process it on your behalf.
5. Rates at checkout
Prices are written in your store’s currency, and Shopify converts and rounds them for other markets. If a Shopify Function fails or runs out of time, Shopify shows every rate without filtering. A discount of yours that can’t be combined with shipping discounts can make a cheaper zone fall back to the fallback price, because Shopify keeps the best offer for the buyer. We are not a carrier or a payment processor and do not hold funds.
6. Turning off and uninstalling
The “Turn off” button in the app removes the app’s shipping profile, its delivery customization and its discount. Use it before you uninstall. If you uninstall without turning off, Shopify removes the Functions and the discount but keeps the app’s shipping profile, which the app can no longer reach: buyers then see the fallback rates and any surcharges at their full price, until you delete that profile in Settings > Shipping and delivery. We then delete what we hold for your shop as described in the privacy policy.
7. No warranty, limited liability
The app is provided “as is”. We don’t promise it will be free of errors or always available, and we don’t promise any level of sales. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, such as lost sales, shipping costs or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you are on the free plan. Nothing here limits a liability the law does not allow us to limit.
8. Suspension and termination
We can suspend or end your access if you seriously breach these terms and don’t fix it after we tell you, or if Shopify or the law requires it. You can stop at any time by uninstalling.
9. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, the date at the top changes. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new version.
10. Governing law
These terms are an agreement between you and Abakira LLC. They are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about them or about the app goes to the state or federal courts located in New Mexico, and you and we both accept their jurisdiction.
